Tips for conceiving
Conceiving is a word to describe getting a woman pregnant, this is done when the males sperm swims up the fallopian tubes and fertilizes an egg in the women's uterus. That fertilized egg then connects itself to the wall of the uterus and starts to grow.
It actually sounds a lot easier then it actually is though. Here are some stats that people should know when they are thinking about trying to conceive a child.
It is said that 10% of the population that are at childbearing age have difficulty conceiving.
Another statistic is that even if their aren't any fertility problems that people between 29 and 33 have only around a 25% chance to conceive a child during any menstrual cycle.
Ovulation abnormalities and sperm deficiencies are the most common cause of infertility.
Around 15% of female infertility cases are because of fallopian tube disease and another 25% is due to irregular ovulation.
These are just a few of the problems that people face when trying to conceive a child. Other factors
that can make it harder to conceive can be fixed just with changes in your lifestyle, others may need to be fixed through medical treatments.
Here are a couple tips for when you ready to conceive, and remember these are just tips and if you really want to conceive and haven't been there yet I suggest you go to your doctor and find out the best options for you. The first tip for women is to know your cycle, women's cycles vary between women but most of them are between 28 and 32 days. Ovulation usually takes place around the 11th to 21st days after you menstruate. Women who have a shorter menstrual cycle tend to ovulate earlier then that though. A good idea is to start tracking your menstrual cycle on a calendar, mark the first day you start and then count the days until the first day of your next cycle.
Once you have your menstrual cycle down, you can start tracking your ovulation cycle. The first stage of ovulation is called the follicular phase. This phase starts at the beginning of your menstrual cycle and goes until you ovulate, normally 7 to 21 days. In this phase one egg gets released from your fallopian tube and travels to your uterus, there it waits to be fertilized. Some women can feel
small pain when they start ovulating, this is often called mittelschmerz which is German for middle pain. Some women may also experience light spotting.
Another way to track your ovulation is by monitoring your cervical mucus. Before ovulation the mucus is thicker, and the closer to ovulation it starts thinning out to make it easier for the sperm to navigate through it to the fallopian tubes. Since the egg is only able to be fertilized between 12 and 24 hours after ovulating it is suggested that you start intercourse a few days before ovulating. This is because the sperm can survive in the fallopian tubes for up to 5 days. If fertilization does not happen after those 12 to 24 hours the egg will disintegrate and be absorbed by the uterus lining and be flushed out the next menstruation cycle.
Another way to start watching for ovulation is by checking your basal temperature with a basal thermometer. Doing this right after your menstrual cycle is over for a few days will determine your baseline temperature. When you temperature rises it is a sign that ovulation is getting closer. There are
charts that you can find that help you determine the best time to conceive will be by going by the basal temperature.
There are many ways to make trying to conceive not feel like a chore. One of these ways is by putting some excitement into it, you can try to have intercourse somewhere other then your bedroom. Try a new spot, somewhere that seems more exciting then the normal boring bedroom. This not only gets the blood flowing but also gets you more excited and will help with trying to conceive.
Another thing you can do is to reduce stress at home and at work, stress is a huge contributor to the problem of not being able to conceive. It does this because stress can change the amount of hormones in your body and mess up your ovulation times, or other problems with fertility. Also make sure you do not stress about the fact that you are trying to conceive a child, that can add to it all and make it even less likely that you will be able to.
Sexual positions my play a part in helping you conceive also, one of the best ways is to have intercourse in the missionary position. This is when the woman lays on the bed, and the male lays on top. A variation of this position also is good, when the woman puts her legs up in the air and rests them on the males chest. There are some other positions that are said to help too, but my advise is to just do it. All people are different and different things might work, the important thing to remember is to make it fun and stress free.
If none of these things work you can also go to your doctor and get fertility pills, these work for a lot of people and if you are having a hard time conceiving the normal way this way might help you do that. There are a variety of different medication out there that will help you with conceiving. Hopefully one of these things will work and you can begin your family. Good luck and if you have any questions or suggestions please leave a comment. Also if you have any tips that might help someone that is having trouble conceiving please leave a comment as well.
